The Gods and Goodess's of the Forn Siðr of the Asatru. |
| There are three types of Gods and Goddess in the Norse pantheon. These are the deities that set the corse of the events that take place in our every day life. |
| The Aesir: These are the deities influance leadership of the clan, standing for Kingship, order and leadership. Courage, strength and boldness. |
| The Jotnar: These are deieties that are giants who are in a constant state of battle with the Aesir for power. They represent chaos and destruction. usually associated with negativity, sorrow and loss. Sickness, ill crops and bad fortune. and death |
| The Vanir: These deities are the fertility of the earth and forces of nature. They are associated with the clan but are not part of it. They influence the clan through the means of natural causes. Through the weather, natural disasters. They also influence the growth of crops and the family and childrens health. |
| Asaru belief is that humanity is literally descended from the Gods. From three brothers, Veir, Odin and Vili. They created people from two hardwood trees and gave them the names A`sk and Embla. One deity came to the earth and established a social teachings of the Forn Sethr. |

| Specific Gods: |
| All Father Odin. He is a one eyed God, he gave up one of his eyes to drink from the fountain of wisdom. He is considered the wise one. He learned the secrets of the runes when hanging himself on the tree Yggdrasil for nine nights. |
| Thor. The god of thunder. the one who wields the divine hammer Mjolnir. Is believed his chariot racing across the sky generates thunder. The day Thursday means (Thor's Day) and was named after him. |
| Ingvi.The Earth God of male fertility. He help set the
Common virtues of humanity. Symbol of fatherhood. |
| Frey. God of peace and plenty who brings fertility and prosperity to the lands. ., He was born on the Winter solstice and is considered is the God of Yule. |
| Sif. The symbol of the harvest, and the continuous cycle of seasons.. also gives hopes and expectations of peace and prosperity. |
