In a time long before Christianity and most other organized religions, there lived a group of Viking people known today as the Norse. They lived throughout northern Europe. With estimated time era going back to some 2500 years ago. A time when most religious faith were non-existent, or were in it’s infancy, These peoples believed in the way of the Asatru, The word Asatru is Danish, used to describe those who follow the ancient spirituality path of the AEsir, or Vanir it means "True to the Gods." Known today as the Troth.
Throughout history this ancient Germanic faith, has had its stories of the Heroes and Foe’s the use of magic and battles with unimaginable Beast. Tales of adventure so incredible that it placed fear and hope in the hearts of men of every faith. Then later in history said to be the belief of witchcraft. Giving evidence to Witch Hunters that this was the work of the evil, where no evidence actually existed. To empower these witch hunting crusaders. To try to destroy this ancient Germanic belief’ and history. So much waste, for unfounded fears.
Today this ancient Germanic faith has not changed. It is still a spiritual path that is Earth centered, involving their members living in harmony with the Gods and the Earth. Living by the words of the Nine Noble Virtues and still remaining true to the gods. To be a Asatru today is a great honor, an honor which helps mankind and the community because of our earth based beliefs of love, peace, and harmony.
